Abstract
From September to November 1985, 54 patients admitted to the Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital with the chief complaints of high fever, headache and myalgia, among which 8 patients show the positivity in leptospira antibody (group
1), 5 patients the positivity in the both of antibody (group I) and 16 patients the positivity in Hantaan virus antibody(group f ). The results of laboratory tests with these patients are as follows:
1. Anemia is observed in the half of the patients, leukocy tosis is prominent in group jh g 9 and thrombocytopenia is observed in the most of the patients.
2. The peripheral blood and bone marrow findings of group 1 , I[ & III are similar. In the peripheral blood the left shift, toxic granulation & vacuolation of neutrophils, activated & atypical lymphocytes and thrombocytopenia are observed. In the bone marrow variable cellularity, increased IVI: E ratio, normal to slightly increased number of megakaryocytes and increase of atypical lymphocytes, plasma cells & histiocytes are observed. The phagocytosis of platelets, normoblasts, or leukocytes by histiocytes are also found.
3. In the liver function tests the abnormal results are obtained in 4 patients of group 1 (50%), 1 pati3nt of group lI (20%) & 10 patients of group Iff (60%) and in the renal function tests the abnormal results in 2 patients of group I (25%), 1 patient of group ff (20%) & 6 patients of group g (38%).
4. We considered the possibility of the past infection or coexistence of the both diseases in the patients with positivity in one and/or the other antibody test.
